As effective as the World Wide Web is, consumers like to hold things in their hands. They like to see things close up and look at the different colors and read about all the features. They want to see prices and make comparisons and they want a reason to buy. They do. How many times have you heard someone say, "I bought it because it was on sale." or "I bought this one because it was the only one I could find in blue." As important as it is to keep your website maintained, it is also important to give your customrs something they can turn over in their hands and say to themselves or someone else, "I want this one because…."

Brochures are effective marketing tools for services as mundane as pest extermination to those that are exciting, such as travel to exotic destinations. Brochures give your customers and potential customers the chance to show their friends and coworkers what they are considering, which also exposes more potential customers to your company.

Brochures go along in the car, they get stuffed in purses and are there to be pulled out during leisure times to be perused over and contemplated. Think about it – once your website has been closed out, will the customer be back? Brochures can serve as a reminder to get back to your website to check things out further.

Give careful thought to the design of your brochures. Show your product or service in action.Convey to your customers how your product or service solves a problem, especially if it is the kind of product or service that is more necessary than fun, such as pest extermination or flypaper. While it is far easier to convey the excitement of exotic travel destinations, if you get creative enough, you can produce brochures to show your product or service in a positive light; something your customers can't do without.

Use your brochures to make your customers feel special. Once they see how necessary or how fun your products or services are, make them a deal. Offer a percentage off for first time customers or free shipping for repeat customers or some kind of perk for taking the specific action noted on your brochure. Consider imposing a deadline to evoke a sense of urgency.

Use your brochures to let your customers know more about your company and why they should do business with you. If your company sells something related to pets, such as dog or cat supplies, let your customers know how you support animal shelters (if indeed you do). If your company is big on recycling, let that fact be known as well.

If you can show your customers how you can solve their problems, give them the time of their life, or provide necessary supplies and do it while showing them how you further the causes they care about, you will have taken a giant step toward turning potential customers into loyal customers. That's powerful. And that will empower your business to grow into big business.
